Congress demands CBI inquiry into mining scam
Bangalore, Mar 21 (UNI) Leader of the Opposition in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly N Dharam Singh today demanded a CBI inquiry into the allegation that Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy had received a bribe of Rs 150 crore from the mining lobby.
Initiating a discussion on the issue in the Assembly, he said it was for the first time that a Chief Minister was facing such a direct allegation and only a CBI inquiry could bring out the truth in the issue.
Mr Singh questioned the constituting and subsequent winding up of the U L Bhatt Commission by the Government to go into the mining scam.
Congress leader R V Deshpande also took part in the discussion.
Earlier, Mr Singh moved an adjournment motion on the issue, but it was converted into a discussion under Rule 69 by the Speaker.
