Cong-Ncp candidates elected President and vice-president

Nanded, Mar 21 (UNI) Ms Vaishali Chavan (Congress) and Ramesh Deshmukh (NCP) were today elected President and Vice-President of the Nanded Zilla Parishad today.

The Congress and NCP had forged an alliance for the ZP President/Vice President elections.

Both Ms Chavan and Mr Deshmukh secured 41 votes as against their rivals Ms Dipika Rathod (Shiv Sena) and Mr Sattyanand Patil, who got 23 votes each.

The Congress is the single largest party in the Nanded ZP, having 24 members followed by NCP 12, Shiv Sena 15, BJP 8 and Independents 6.
