Commonwealth delegation visits Technopark

Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 21 (UNI) A 15-member delegation of the tenth Commonwealth Study Conference visited the Technopark here as part of its mission to study the impact of industry and commerce on people and their living environment in Commonwealth countries, particularly in the area of Information Technology, Tourism and Health-care.

The delegation, under the aegis of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) comprised Juliet Kabonesa, Member of Parliament of Uganda, Anthony Segako, Botswana Export development and Investment authority and Elizabeth Mkoba, IT Manager, Tanzania education authority, among others, amongst trade union, industry and NGO representatives from Canada, Australia and the UK, a release said here.

The delegation, headed by Lakshmi Sampath, Executive officer of CII held discussion on the development plans of the Technopark, the modus-operandi adopted in various issues related to developmental activities of Technopark and also reviewed various policies related to the development of the Park.

The delegation also held discussions with K Ramachandran, Deputy General Manager and M Vasudevan, Senior Manager (Business Development) and later visited the premises of Infosys and US Technology in the Technopark campus.
