Committee on BCs to visit temple town

Tirupati, Mar 21 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh legislative assembly committee on welfare of Backward Classes (BCs) will visit Tirupati and Tirumala on March 25 and 26 to assess the implementation of welfare measures for the benefit of BC communities.

According to official sources here, the eight-member committee from Hyderabad, headed by Chairman M Hanumantha Rao, will examine the welfare measures taken up by the various departments for 'Rajakas, 'Nayee' Brahmins, weavers, Goldsmiths and others in Chittoor district.

The Committee members will also visit some BCs welfare hostels around Tirupati to examine the welfare schemes being implemented for BC employees in TTD and those being implemented by the TTD for students of BC communities.

The Committee will also hold a meeting with TTD executive officer A P V N Sarma and other officers concerned to review the implementation of welfare schemes for BC employees of TTD in Tirupati.
