Coca Cola shifts a bottling line from Plachimada

Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 21 (UNI) Denying any move to close down its bottling plant in Kerala in the wake of agitations, the Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Private Ltd today said one of the three bottling lines from the Plachimada plant in Palakkad has been shifted to another location as part of its restructuring process.

In a statement here, the company clarified that it had not shifted its bottling plant from Kerala and it would continue its operations.

''The company is currently restructuring some operations to ensure that our bottling equipment is placed in plants that serve areas with the highest demand for our beverages. As a part of this process, one of the three bottling lines from the Plachimada plant in Palakkad was moved to another location to allow us to meet the growing demand for one-way packages for our consumers in India,'' it added.

Making this change would help the company to serve its retail customers better and result in increased sales and overall improved performance, the release added.
