Bihar announces construction of panchayat buildings
Patna, Mar 21 (UNI) Bihar government today announced in the state assembly that Panchayats buildings would soon be constructed.
Replying to a short noticed question by legislator Dinesh Prasad, Bihar Panchayati Raj Minister Narendra Narayan Yadav said that a list of panchayats, devoid of buildings in 29 districts had been received and the district magistrates of the rest of the distrcts had been directed to send the list.
He said negotiations, to get fund from the World Bank for construction of the buildings, was going on. He also assured to get the existing panchayat buildings vacated from the encroachers within a week.
Earlier, through the short noticed question, Mr Prasad had drawn the attention of the House towards encroachment of panchayat buildings and he had stated that the panchayat building of Ben block was used for keeping fodder while a rice mill was running in the building of Naura panchayat.
