Bank strike deferred
New Delhi, Mar 21 (UNI) The three-day all India bank strike, which was to begin from March 28, was today deferred after the unions reached an understanding regarding their demands with the Indian Banks Association (IBA).
The unions in the morning met Finance Minister P Chidambaram and later officials of the IBA, which represents the bank managements.
Later an undertaking in this regard was given before the Labour Commissioner, which outlines the manner in which the negotiations will proceed.
The nine banks unions met the authorities under their umbrella organisation United Forum of Bank Unions.
