Two swept away in flash flood

Jammu, Mar 20 (UNI) A girl and a woman today perished in a flash flood while crossing a nullah near Bhaderwah in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, sources said.

Ujla Devi, a class V student of High School Sertingle, was on her way to appear for an exam when she was swept away in a flash flood in a nullah at Shri Buttla, 8 kms from Bhaderwah.

Ms Mansa Devi, 50, who was assisting the children to cross the nullah, also perished in an attempt to save Ujla, sources told UNI.

The security forces, along with locals, were searching for the bodie.

The state has been experiencing heavy rain since last evening, triggering landslides and floods.
