Two killed as truck collides with dumper in Yavatmal

Nagpur, Mar 20 (UNI) Two persons were killed and four others injured when the truck they were travelling in collided head-on with an approaching dumper in the rural part of Yavatmal district in Vidarbha region of Maharashtra.

According to police, the mishap occurred yesterday when the truck, loaded with soybean, on its way to Wani in the district, slammed into a dumper coming from the opposite direction, near village Jodmoha, about 24 kilometres from Yavatmal.

Two labourers, identified as Deepak Bijaram Ambadse (21) and Harichandra Kisan Lonare (34), died on the spot, the police said.

Four others in the vehicle, including the owner of the truck, identified as Kamal Shivcharan Jaiswal (30), who was driving the vehicle, sustained injuries, are undergoing treatment at a local hospital, police added.
