TRS upbeat over BJP support,awaits Speaker's ruling on rebels issue

Hyderabad, Mar 20 (UNI) Welcoming the Bharatiya Janata Party's announcement of support to the party in the Legislative Council elections from the State Assembly on March 22, the Telangana Rashtra Samiti today expressed confidence that it would win the two seats it was contesting with first preference vote itself.

Talking to UNI, Party spokesman Madhusudanachary said the movement for separate Telangana state would get a further push with the BJP's decision to support the TRS in the council polls slated for March 22.

Expressing hope that Speaker K R Suresh Reddy would take a 'positive' decision on disqualifying nine TRS rebel MLAs before the MLC polls, he maintained that the MLAs' action of proposing the candidature of K Gnaneswar not belonging to the TRS amounted to giving up the part membership and they were liable for disqualification from the State Assembly.
