Three people killed in truck mishap

Bangalore, Mar 20 (UNI) Three persons were killed and three others injured seriously, when a cement-laden truck in which they were traveling turned turtle near Basavanahalli near Tiptur in Tumkur district late last night.

According to police sources the mishap occurred when a truck transporting cement to Hassan turned turtle at Basavanahalli village in the Bangalore-Honnavar National Highway near Tiptur.

The ill-fated victims were reportedly traveling in the truck as the passengers when the mishap occurred. The injured, two of them reportedly in serious condition were admitted to Tiptur General Hospital.

Following the incident the traffic at the Bangalore-Honnavar National Highway disrupted for few hours before the authorities removed the bodies and the turtled truck, the sources added.
