Thackeray reciprocates positively to Pawar on alliance
Mumbai, Mar 20 (UNI) In a development that could have far-reaching impact on Maharashtra and national-level politics, Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray today reciprocated positively to NCP president and Union Agriculture minister Sharad Pawar's reported statement on having an alliance with his party.
Responding to Mr Pawar's statement, Mr Thackeray said ''It can be worked out.'' He was, however, quick to add ''It depends which card Pawar plays and at what time.'' The Sena supremo was speaking to mediapersons at his residence in suburban Bandra after launching a book of poems, penned by veteran Marathi poet and lyricist Jagdish Khebudkar.
Mr
Thackeray
said,
''Pawar
and
I
are
good
old
friends
and
I
had
earlier
told
him
that
our
alliance
will
create
a
'storm'
in
the
country
and
he
could
have
become
the
Prime
Minister.
But
it
did
not
materialise.''
