New Delhi, Mar 20 (UNI) With the elections in Uttar Pradesh round the corner, the BJP did not dismiss Amethi MP Rahul Gandhi's comments on Babri Masjid as ''immature blabber'' but viewed the remarks ''as a notice of sorts served on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.'' For Leader of Opposition L K Advani, Mr Gandhi's statement that the Masjid would not have been demolished if there was someone from the Gandhi family in the driving seat was a display of ''monarchical mindset''. Senior BJP leader Sushma Swaraj said the statement was ''too serious to be dismissed lightly. It is in fact an indirect warning to Dr Singh.'' Mr Advani said if the '' MP from the first family of the Congress can distance the regimes of Lal Bahadur Shastri, P V Narasimha Rao and Gulzari Lal Nanda as 'Congress aberrations', it will not take him too long to claim at a later stage that there would be no Nandigram or price rise if a Gandhi family member was a PM.'' Mrs Swaraj said Rahul's mother and Congress President and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi was already putting'' Dr Singh on notice by her letters on a range of issues like wheat import and price rise.'' "This family will only hog credit for itself all good things happening but would sacrifice the incumbent should anything go wrong," she said.

Both Mr Advani and Mrs Swaraj declined to given benefit of doubt to Mr Gandhi when a reporter suggested that it could be the fault of the 'speech writer'. "You can't blame the speech writer for this.

This only displays the person's mindset," Mr Advani remarked.

Meanwhile, Janata Party leader Subramanian Swamy blamed Mr Rahul Gandhi's remark as a ''telling comment on lack of proper education.'' ''Doesn't he know that the disused masjid was ordered to be opened in 1986 because of the 'complicity and concurrence' of Congress government in Uttar Pradesh and Rahul's father Rajiv Gandhi was the Prime Minister. The Home Minister of his government was a witness to the opening of the temple in 1989,'' he said.
