Pandemonium in upper House over irregularities in BPL list

Patna, Mar 20 (UNI) Upper House of the state legislature today witnessed pandemonium over irregularities in the below poverty line(BPL) list when the Opposition raised the issue of a death of a woman who been on dharna at Patori village in Saharsa to protest the inclusion of undeserving persons in the said list.

During zero hour, prof Ghulam Gaus of RJD, Chandan Bagchi of Congress and Sanjay Singh of LJP raised the issue of irregularities in BPL list and said that death of a woman on dharna in Saharsa was most unfortunate. The tresury benches objected the attempt of the opposition members saying raking up this issue on daily basis was totally uncalled for.

Members of RJD, Congress and LJP made noisy scenes over the remarks of the treasury benches and demanded a government job for the next of the kin of the victim. They also demanded cancellation of BPL list.

Acting chairman of the state legislative council Prof.Arun Kumar expressed concern over the issue raked by the Opposition and said it was unfortunate that irregularities in BPL list was being given political colour despite the Chief Minister's statement in this regard.
