Oracle announces Accelerate program for Indian SMBs

Mumbai, Mar 20 (UNI) Software solutions major, Oracle today announced its tie up with local partners in India to extend its global Accelerate program to Indian Small and Medium Businesses (SMBs) in order to increase competitiveness of SMBs across the Asia Pacific region.

This move is part of the global Oracle Accelerate program, which is Oracle's approach to meet the diverse IT requirements of SMBs by combining partner expertise with the industry's most comprehensive software portfolio, comprising both Oracle applications and technology solutions.

Oracle India Managing Director Krishnan Dhawan said ''We are empowering more and more domestic organisations with industry leading technology to better compete in the global market. Together with our growing network of over 400 certified channel partners, we provide local expertise and support to help companies better manage their IT infrastructure and business.'' In the last 10 months, Oracle has expanded its presence in Pune, Ahmedabad, Coimbatore, Kochi, Vishakapatnam, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Indore, Lucknow and several other cities. This adds to its already strong presence in the metros like Mumbai, Delhi, Calcutta and Chennai.

In India, Oracle is already working closely with SYSTIME, Sonata, Wipro, Bluestar, HCL technologies, L&T Infotech, Satyam, Hexaware and Accel Frontline to address the requirements of SMBs in the industrial manufacturing, retail, life sciences, engineering, construction, professional services, education and health markets.

Extending support to Oracle solutions, Su-Kam Power Systems Information Technology Deputy General Manager Shashi Kumar said ''We have been on an aggressive growth path for the last two years. To manage this growth, we evaluated several leading ERP solutions and partners and finally selected an implementation of Oracle E Business Suite through Sonata.'' Oracle entered India in 1987 and set up an India Development Centre in 1994. Today, Oracle has two India Development centres as well as Indian hubs for Oracle's support, consulting and financial services operations through its offices in the six metros and 17 high growth cities in India.
