NABARD okays Rs 18.24 cr for LI projects
Hyderabad, Mar 20 (UNI) The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has sanctioned six lift irrigation (LI) projects involving loan assistance of Rs 18.24 crore to the Andhra Pradesh Government.
These projects were sanctioned under Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF-XI) by the project sanctioning committee in a meeting held at New Delhi on March 17. Including an earlier sanction of Rs 769.48 crore for 2197 projects, the cumulative sanctions under RIDF XII to the state government stands at Rs 787.72 crore for 2203 projects, a NABARD statement here today said.
These six LI projects are spread over four districts -- East Godavari, Kadapa, Nalgonda and Vizianagaram -- envisaging assured irrigation to 3,151 hectares. Of the six projects, four namely Nemmaladinne LI, Ganapavaram LI, Kothagudem LI and Tadvai LI are in distress districts.
All the projects are single stage pumping projects with the designed discharge ranging from 3.68 cusecs to 61.421 cusecs.
The above projects would provide nearly 18.62 lakh mandays of non-recurring employment in rural areas of the state.
