MP pilgrims to get grant for Pak visit
Bhopal, Mar 20 (UNI) The BJP Government will provide 50 per cent travel expenditure as grant to devotees from Madhya Pradesh, visiting Hindu and Sikh pilgrim centres in Pakistan.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan made the announcement while addressing the Rashtriya Kavi Sammelan programme organised by the Karam Shree Sanstha here last night.
He said Hindu and Sikh pilgrims will receive the grant for undertaking journeys to the Hinglaj Mata and the Nankana Sahib respectively.
Last year, the government had announced to provide 50 per cent travel expenditure as grant to pilgrims who visited to Mansarovar.
He lauded the programmes such as Kavi Sammelan on the occasion of New Year as per Indian calendar.
Mr Chouhan said the government had announced public holiday on this occasion last year so that people could understand the importance of these festivals.
He felt this could help in controlling the cacophony of western music during December 31 celebrations.
