Kanichukulangara murder case: key accused gets bail
Kochi, Mar 20 (UNI) Key accused Bineesh in the sensational Kanichukulangara triple murder case was today granted bail by the Kerala High Court.
The alleged murder happened on July 20, 2005, in which Bineesh and his brother Sajith allegedly hired goondas to stage-manage an accident to kill Ramesh, managing director of a rival chits company.
Ramesh was a former employee at the brothers' Himalaya Chit Fund Company and had parted ways with them to start his own Everest Chits.
He and two others were killed in the 'accident'.
Justice V Ramakumar, while granting bail to the petitioner said the continuance of the pre-trial incarceration was not warranted.
The court directed that Bineesh be released on executing a bond of Rs 50,000 with two solvent sureties each for the same amount. The court directed him to report before the investigation officer between 0900 and and 1100 hrs on all Wednesdays until a supplementary final report was filed before the magistrate.
He was told not to enter the territorial limits of Mararikkulam police station until further orders and surrender his passport to the Judicial First Class Magistrate, Alappuzha.
He could not travel beyond the limits of the state of Kerala without prior permission of the trial court.
Additional Director General of Prosecution V K Mohanan had opposed the bail application.
