INLD boycots assembly session
Chandigarh, Mar 20 (UNI) Accusing the Haryana government of gagging the voice of the opposition in the assembly, Indian National Lok Dal today said it would boycott the rest of the ongoing budget session of the House.
The INLD announcement came soon after a Breach of Privilege motion was brought in the assembly against INLD leader Om Prakash Chautala for misconduct, misbehaviour and contempt of the House.
Mr Chautala was earlier 'named' and sent out of the House after he entered into an argument with the Speaker during the question hour. Two INLD members were suspended for the rest of the budget session for stalling the proceedings while the remaining six were also named and sent of the House.
Talking to reporters, Mr Chautala said a breach of privilege should have been brought against the Hooda government which was responsible for leaking the report of the Bhalla commission that went into the creation of the Haryana Industrial Security Force which was later disbanded.
Mr Chautala alleged that INLD members were humijated in the House and not allowed to speak under a pre-planned strategy of the Hooda government.
The budget session of the assembly began on March nine and will conclude on March 23.
