Heroin and fake notes seized in Mizoram

Aizawl, March 20: NGO volunteers of Mizoram seized a contingent of heroin worth of Rs 89,000 and fake currency of Rs 33,500 of Rs 500 denomination from the possession of three Myanmari immigrants here last night.

Following the trio's confession, police arrested a person from Phunchawng village on the outskirts of Aizawl and seized two more cans of heroin from his rented house.

According to police, the fake notes were coming from Myanmar and the heroin was to be smuggled into neighbouring states.
