HCL introduces eco-friendly laptops
Chennai, Mar 20 (UNI) Leading personal computer manufacturer HCL Infosystems Limited today announced the introduction of a complete lineup of eco-efficient consumer and business notebooks which are compliant with the RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) directive.
These HCL notebooks were completely safe for users and environment in general, a company release here said.
The new range of RoHS compliant HCL notebooks includes high performance HCL laptop Z&U Series based on Intel Core2 Duo processors, efficient HCL laptop X &D Series based on Intel Centrino Duo technology, Dual Core HCL Notebook K&P series based on Intel Pentium Dual core and value for money HCL Notebook S&L Series based on Intel Celeron processors.
HCL Infosystems Executive Vice President George Paul said, "E-waste has been a subject of concern globally and nationally and as part of this programme, we had initiated voluntary compliance to RoHS directives for all our products".
HCL has been the first IT manufacturing company to have both its plants ISO 14001 certified and implement a comprehensive e-waste disposal policy, he said adding earlier this year, HCL was also the first IT company to set-up a comprehensive process that enables its customers to dispose off electronic waste in an environment-friendly manner.
