Girl thrown off train in MP; dies

Narsinghpur, MP, Mar 20 (UNI) A two-and-a-half-year-old girl died after being thrown off the Varanasi-Pune Ganga Kaveri Express into the Sher river between Shridham and Karakbel stations by an unidentified person at about 1100 hrs today, the police said.

Police reached the spot and fished out the body.

Government Railway Police personnel attempted to stop the train at Gadarwara but it sped away as it was not a scheduled halt.
