Mumbai, Mar 20 (UNI) A local court today adjourned till tomorrow, the hearing on the Anticipatory Bail Application (ABA) of Udyanath Pratapsingh Chauhan Maharaj, allegedly involved in a conspiracy to kill a builder Rashimkant Shah.

The Additional Session Court Judge Pradeep Bavkar adjourned the hearing of the application filed by Maharaj, fearing his arrest- in the case involving redevelopment project of Abhyudaya Nagar at Kalachowki in southcentral Mumbai.

Earlier, Judge Bavkar had rejected another ABA of the Maharaj which was filed under section 307 (attempt to murder). The applicant then approached Bombay High Court for relief.

Meanwhile, Justice Vijaya Tahelramani of the Bombay High Court has directed the petitioner to first pursue the session court matter, which was pending there and then approach the high court.

The matter has been adjourned till March 22.

Maharaj had moved ABA after his name allegedly figured during interrogation of four accused persons, arrested in conspiracy to eliminate a builder over Abhyudaya Nagar Redevelopment issue.

City police has arrested four persons - Mohammed Jaffer Sheikh, Aslam Khan, Salim Qureshi and Vijay Vadkar - who confessed to the police during interrogation that they were hired by Maharaj to kill Rashimkant Shah of Vijay Developers regarding Abhyudaya Nagar Redevelopment issue.
