Cops suspended for stripping, beating women

Mandsaur, MP, Mar 20 (UNI) An Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) and head constable have been suspended for stripping and beating up two women accused of murder and hailing from this district's Narayangarh.

''Guddi Bai and Anusuya Bai Patidar were taken to Kukdeshwar Police Station, without a single woman personnel being present, and confined for eight days. ASI Mohan Lal Chaudhry and Head Constable Durgashankar Tiwari were suspended,'' Deputy Inspector-General Varun Kapoor told UNI. He investigated a complaint from the women's relatives folowing a directive by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

Station House Officer Pankaj Trivedi has been line-attached.

The women were charged with killing of Barlai-resident Bhagwan Patidar on February 27.
