Claris gets acceptance from USFDA for its products

Ahmedabad, Mar 20 (UNI) Claris Lifesciences, a pharmaceutical company here has received acceptance from the United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) for sterile injectable manufacturing facility.

Addressing mediapersons here today, Arjun Handa, Chief Operating Officer said this achievement triggers a significant opportunity for Claris. He said that ''This milestone reinforces the faith in the company's abilities and stragegy.'' With a strong regulatory pipelines for the US, we are confident of leveraging this lead into building an even stronger revenues and financial track record.

He said that for Claris, this acceptance opens up the doors of the US Pharmaceutical market - the largest in the world at 120 billion US dollar. Claris has already filed nine abbrevated news drugs applications in the USA in 2006, in which a team of inspectors visited and have been found accepted. Now we will get the product approval of nine products and 20 more are in the pipeline for 2007, he added.

Mr Handa said that with the manufacturing acceptance in place, the company's products should be available in the US markets by end of 2007 adding that Claris already has a presence in the country with a wholly owned subsdiary, Claris Lifesciences Inc.

With its regulated markets strategy in place, Claris is looking towards a revenue target of Rs 700 crore in 2007. Since its inception Claris has been progress from strength to strength maintaining an average growth of over 40 per cent. The company closed 2006 with revenues of Rs 400 crore of which fifty per cent contribution came from its international operations, he added.

Claris Lifesciences is an international pharmaceutical company in the business of manufacturing and marketing sterile parenteral preparations, life saving medicines and hospital products, focusing on delivery systems for treatment of critical illness and diseases.
