Bandh continues in Begu for the fourth day today

Jaipur, Mar 20(UNI) The Begu township in Chittorgarh district remained closed for the fourth consecutive day today following communal violence between two communities during the traditional Gair procession on Rang Teres on Saturday.

Additional District Superintendent of police Rajendra Singh Chaudhary told UNI no untoward incident was reported in the area but the shops and business establishments continue to remain closed for the fourth day today.

He said the shop keepers and the business estbalishment have been demanding security and a assurance from the administraion. About 20 shops and kiosks were gutted in the arson and violence follwing the stoning of the procession.

He said talks are underway between the district administration and the businessman and peace committees in the area to break the dead lock.
