AI, Indian jointly bid for ground handling at GHIAL
New Delhi, Mar 20 (UNI) Air India and Indian have decided to jointly tender for ground handling at the GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd (GHIAL), minister for civil aviation Praful Patel told parliament today.
As per terms of the tender requirement, the Indian operator or handling agent is required to join with an international ground handling agency.
All international agencies shortlisted by the GHIAL were considered by AI and Indian. Singapore Air Terminal Service (SATS) was selected as the joint venture partner with 49 per cent shareholding while AI and Indian both jointly held the remaining 51 per cent.
However, GHIAL is yet to finalise the groundhandling contract for the Hyderabad airport, Mr Patel told the Rajya Sabha in a written reply.
