Accenture to hire 2,000 management consultants

New Delhi, Mar 20: Global management consulting and outsourcing company Accenture today said it will hire 2,000 management consulting professionals in India by 2008-end to serve clients globally and in the domestic market.

''Expanding our management consulting capabilities in India will complement the capabilities we have in technology and outsourcing, benefiting both domestic clients in India and clients in other markets,'' Accenture's group chief executive-Management Consulting and Integrated Markets Mark Foster told reporters here.

The company plans to double the size of management consultants globally within the next three years from the current 13,000, he said adding that harnessing the talent pool in India is the company's core objective to reengineer the entire management value chain.

''We are also proposed to expand the business to other verticals including retail, pharmaceuticals, automobiles and others,'' Chairman India and Geography Managing Director Harsh Manglink said.

He added that the management consultants will help Indian companies in their mergers and acquisitions and carrying forward their growth story.

''We are looking at the management patch and are looking at multi-locations to operate from India,'' Mr Foster said.

The company is also open to acquistions and is looking at Information Technology, BPO and other services and keeps aside 200-300 million dollars every year for the purpose.

However, he gave no details on the company's buyout plans for the current fiscal.

The expansion of Accenture's management consulting capabilities in India includes additional growth in the company's consulting analytics centre in Delhi.

The analytics centre provides Accenture's global client base with access to consulting skills such as customer, marketing and data analytics, marketing automation and campaign management, and enterprise performance management.
