20 kg heroin in Punjab, 2 arrested

Amritsar, Mar 20 (UNI) Sleuths of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) today seized 20 kg heroin from a house in the Moon Avenue of the city and arrested two persons, including a woman.

According to Punjab Police sources, another 20 kg of heroin was seized by the DRI in New Delhi after a disclosure from the arrested persons. The seizure in the National Capital was part of the consignment seized here.

Sources said that the DRI on specific information raided a house in the Moon Avenue locality and recovered the heroin consigment of 20 kg. Two persons, including a woman identified as Manjit Kaur, were taken into custody. Both were later booked under the NDPS Act by the Punjab Police.

Sources said that it was on the interrogation of the woman, that the DRI informed its Delhi office of another 20 kg having been delivered in the National Capital.
