Woman stabbed to death by husband

Kolhapur, Mar 19 (UNI) A man stabbed his wife to death at village Kolindre in Chandgad tehsil of this district, allegedly over a petty quarrel.

Police said the deceased, identified as Laxmibai Baliram Ubale from village Sasura in Kej tehsil of Beed district, was killed by her husband with a sharp sugarcane cutting weapon, following a dispute over his drinking habit yesterday.

Deceased Laxmibai and her husband Baliram, a sugarcane cutter couple from Beed district, were staying at Kolindre village in connection with sugarcane cutting works of the Daulat Co-operative Sugar Factory, Halkarni since November 2006.

There were frequent disputes between the couple over Baliram's habitual liquor practice.
