With 2 more candidates, Cong completes list for phase I polls

Lucknow, Mar 19 (UNI) A day before the last date of filing of nominations for the first phase of Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, the Congress today released the names of two more candidates.

With this, the Congress completed its list of 62 candidates for as many seats going to polls on April 7.

UP Congress vice-president Satyadev Tripathi said here that Jagdish Verma had been fielded from Dayalbagh, while Amar Singh Sharma would contest from Khairagarh.

The party also announced to field Brig (retd) N B Singh for the Billaur Lok Sabha by-election. The bypoll was necessitated after the sitting MP was disqualified in the cash-for-question sting operation.
