War Veterans to 'fight' UP poll
Lucknow, Mar 19 (UNI) War Veterans' Party (WVP), a political outfit floated by ex-armymen, has decided to fight the coming Uttar Pradesh assembly poll.
WVP president Captain Lorens Nathanial said here today, besides ex-armymen, war-widows and general candidates with clean record would also be nominated to contest.
''We are also holding talks with some 'like minded' parties for a possible poll-alliance,'' he informed.
Captain Nathanial said the party had been formed to alleviate corruption, unemployment and internal security challenges facing the country at present.
The party has already been recognised by Election Commission.
People are facing problems even after 60 yrs of independence, while the three wings of the defence services had also failed to fulfill its promises to ex-servicemen and their widows, he lamented.
WVP will issue its poll manifesto on March 28 listing its short and long terms policies. ''We will also hold a conference of party candidates on March 27,'' Captain Nathanial informed.
