Security tightened in AP
Visakhapatnam, Mar 19 (UNI) Security has been tightened in all Maoist-affected areas in Andhra Pradesh in the wake of the naxal attack at Bastar region in Chhattisgarh on March 15.
Police sources said special police teams were deployed in all police stations, mainly in the 11 agency mandals.
High alert had been sounded in the North Coastal districts of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam.
In Srikakulam, police were maintaining a close watch in Maoist-strong mandals like Mandasa, Palasa, Vajrapuktthuru, Meliaputti, Bhamini and Pathapatnam, The sources added.
