Rahul's roadshow have enthused the workers : Cong

New Delhi, Mar 19 (UNI) The Congress today said party MP Rahul Gandhi's roadshows in western Uttar Pradesh ahead of the Assembly elections in the state had created a ''tremendous impact'' and generated ''unprecedented enthusiasm'' among the youths.

''We are confident that his poll camapign would boost the morale of the Congress workers and office-bearers,'' Congress spokesman Satyavrat Chaturvedi said while talking to mediapersons here.

Asked whether the party would now think of contesting all the 400-plus Assembly seats in the state, he said, ''At this juncture the process has not been finalised.'' He added that it would be premature to comment on how many seats the Congress would contest.

Mr Chaturvedi denied comment over the reported remark of Mr Gandhi that had anybody from the Nehru-Gandhi been at the helm of affairs in Uttar Pradesh, the Babri Mosque would not have been demolished.

However, he added that whatever Mr Gandhi might have said was within his rights ''as an MP''.

Mr Chaturvedi also refused to comment on former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Ajit Jogi's arrest in the NCP Treasure Ram Avatar Jaggi murder case, saying ''the matter is sub judice''.
