Police arrested conductor with bogus tickets

Jamnagar (Gujarat), Mar 19 (UNI) City police claimed to have busted a bogus-ticket racket in the state transport bus service with the arrest of a conductor today, The conductor was found carrying bogus tickets, valued at about Rs 7,150, this morning, police said.

Natubhai Pithabhai Rathod, conductor on the Dahod-Khambhalia route was initially arrested for carrying 54 bottles of liquor.

However, during interrogation Natubhai disclosed that he was also involved in producing bogus tickets. Police recovered 146 bogus tickets from his possession.

The conductor confessed that the tickets were given to him by another conductor, Hariprasad Joshi, who is attached to Surendra depot.

However, the actual magnitude of the bogus tickets racket could be known only after the entire chain of the people involved are traced.

Police has registered two different cases against Natubhai.
