Peon gets 3.5-years RI for accepting bribe
New Delhi, Mar 19 (UNI) A CBI court today handed down a three-and-a-half year jail term to a peon in bribery-related case against him.
The Special Judge Sunil Gaur sentenced peon Shiv Kumar to 3.5- years RI and a fine of Rs 10,000.
The CBI had caught the peon, working at SDM office Rampura, red handed while accepting Rs 1000 from one Parminder Singh as bribe on May 13, 2005.
The amount was a consideration for a domicile certificate. A case was registered against Kumar under Prevention of Corruption Act.
