Partial solar eclipse in India on March 19

New Delhi, Mar 19: A partial eclipse of the sun occurred this morning which was visible in India from 0609 hrs to 0807 hrs.

The greatest phase and the end of the eclipse were visible from all parts of India.

But the beginning was visible only from the eastern, north eastern, and some northern places.

The remaining parts of the country saw the sunrise after the eclipse began, an offical statement said today.

In Delhi, which witnessed its beginning, the greatest phase of the eclipse occurred at 0706 hrs and the end at 0801 hrs.

In Mumbai, the greatest phase was visible at 0652 hrs and the end at 0737 hrs.

In Chennai and Bangalore, the greatest phase lasted from 0644 hrs to 0723 hrs.

In Hyderabad the greatest phase will be visible at 0650 hrs, and the end at 0734 hrs.

The eclipse began at 0609 hrs in Bhubaneshwar, Puri and Koraput, 0610 hrs in Cuttack, 0611 hrs in Kolkota and Midnapore, 0612 hrs at Gaya, Hazaribagh and Port Blair, Patna, 0613 hrs at Allahabad, Agartala and Bhagalpur, 0614 hrs at Aizwal, 0615 hrs at Imphal, Darjeeling and Cooch Behar, 0616 hrs at Gangtok and Guwahati, 0617 hrs at Itanagar, and 0618 hrs at Dibrugarh.
