One lakh devotees offer prayer in Vindhyachal

Mirzapur, Mar 19 (UNI) The world famous 'Vindhyachal Navratri Mela' started here today with an estimated one lakh devotees offering prayers at the much revered Maa Vindhavasini Devi shrine.

The puja and other rituals had started in the wee early hours, while the devotees and pilgrims had started congregating here since last night.

During the solar eclipse this morning, the puja and other rituals were suspended, only to resume after it was over.

Tight security arrangements have been made in the Mela area, although civic amenities are still left wanting.
