Mahek released on bail

Barrackpore, Mar 19 (UNI) Delhi based Management student Mahek Ahuja, arrested in connection with a misleading SMS from NSCBI Airport on March 11, was released on bail yesterday.

Mahek had been remanded to judicial custody till March 28 and was later sent to the Presidency jail.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Dibyendu Dey granted her a conditional bail yesterday following a petition moved by her lawyer on March 14.

Mahek(22), had SMSed her father that the Delhi-bound Indigo plane might be hijacked.

On the basis of her information, Mahek's father had informed the Airport Authorities.

However, the information turned out to be false.
