MA student commits suicide

Allahabad, Mar 19 (UNI) An MA final year student of Allahabad University here today allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself.

Abhishekh Pandey, 20, hanged himself from the ceiling fan of his room in Hindu Hostel, police said.

According to police, when his classmates visited his room this evening, they found Abhishekh hanging from the fan.

They immedately informed the police and varsity authorities.

His body had been sent for autopsy.

Pandey was a resident of Prithvipur in Ghazipur district. His classmates said Pandey was mentally disturbed and was regularly on sleeping pills.

Meanwhile, an unconfirmed report claimed a girl student of an engineering college in Naini area here today allegedly jumped in river Yamuna from Jamuna bridge.

Getting the information, police had reached the spot and engaged divers to recover her body.

The girl is a resident of Preetam Nagar in the city.

UNI
