Kapil Dev becomes Brand Ambassador of Haier Mobile

Kolkata, Mar 19 (UNI) Haier Mobile, one of the leading cellular service providers, today announced the appointment of Kapil Dev, the Wisden Indian Cricketer of the Century, as its Brand Ambassador in India.

In his new role for Haier Mobile, Kapil Dev will participate in all major brand and product promotions on television, print and other media besides in all new product launches and trade events in the country.

"Captain of India's 1983 World Cup winning team, Kapil Dev as a cricketer with his focus on fitness, would fit well with the brand values of Haier Mobile," said Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of Haier Telecom India Arun Khanna adding Haier Mobile selected Kapil Dev as its Brand Ambassador from among several other equally reputed contenders because of his "universal appeal".

Haier Mobile, claimed to be the second largest CDMA service provider in India after Reliance Telecom, has entered into strategic alliances with leading service providers in the country, including Tata Indicom. In addition, it is also emerging as one of the top players in the GSM space.
