Goods train derailed, train services affected

Bangalore, Mar 19 (UNI) Train services between the Hubli-Bangalore section were severly affected following the derailment of a goods train, carrying iron-ore near Toluhunise village in Davanagere district early today.

According to Railway sources, the incident occurred at about 0500 hrs in the morning when three bogies of the goods train derailed and damaged the track for over one kilometer stretch.

Following the incident, the train services between the Mumbai-Hubli-Bangalore were affected and the Dadar-Bangalore, Hubli-Bangalore Janashatabdi and the Bangalore-Hubli Passenger train were running indefinite late.

The Railway staff are engaged to set right the damaged track and the train services are expected to become normal by evening, the sources said.
