Commonwealth Secretary-General arrives in B'desh on three-day visit

Dhaka, Mar 19 (UNI) Commonwealth Secretary-General Don McKinnon arrived here this morning on a three-day visit to Bangladesh to hold talks with the caretaker government and political party leaders.

Mr McKinnon will meet Chief Advisor Fakhruddin Ahmed and Foreign Affairs Advisor Iftekhar Ahmed Chowdhury tomorrow, where the discussions will focus on Commonwealth issues as well as the current political situation.

He will also hold discussions with leaders of major political parties, including Khaleda Zia's Bangladesh Nationalist Party and the Sheikh Hasina-led Awami League.

He is scheduled to visit India from March 21 to 23.
