BJP defends Ahluwalia's conduct
New Delhi, Mar 19 (UNI) The BJP today defended its MP Mr S S Ahluwalia's conduct in Rajya Sabha today saying that he had not done anything to demean the dignity of the House.
Trying to explain the ''scuffle like situation'' in the Rajya Sabha today when the government sought to transact official business in the din, BJP Deputy Leader Sushma Swaraj said Mr Ahlulwalia was proceeding towards Parliamentary Affairs Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi to ask Finance Minister P Chidambaram to lay his speech on the table of the House instead of reading it out as decided among the leaders of political parties in the Chairman's Chambers.
She said Mr Ahluwalia was a responsible MP and the Chief Whip of the BJP and would never indulge in anything that denigrated the dignity of the House.
As he walked upto Mr Dasmunsi, he was ''misunderstood'' by the Treasury benches leading to the situation, she explained.
