Afzal 'Guru' requests to be removed from solitary confinement
New Delhi, Mar 19 (UNI) Parliament attack convict Mohammad Afzal Guru today filed an application before a local court requesting to be shifted from solitary confinement to the general ward.
The cited ''mental torture'' and other complications for his request.
Additional Session Judge Ravinder Kaur orderd that a copy of the application be made available with the jail superintendent and fixed March 23 as the next date of hearing.
Mohammad Afzal was awarded death sentence by a Delhi court last year and his mercy petition is pending before the President of India.
