10-day long Nagaland Budget Session from tomorrow

Kohima, Mar 19 (UNI) The 10-day long 14th Session of the Tenth Nagaland Legislative Assembly, during the Budget Session for the year 2007-2008, will be presented here tomorrow morning.

Assembly Secretariat sources said the Budget Session will begin tomorrow with the speech of Nagaland Governor K Sankaranarayanan, followed by obituary reference and moving of motion of thanks to the governor's address.

The highlights of the session will be the presentation of budget for the year 2007-08 by Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, who is also holding the finance portfolio, on March 24 next.

Among the other business of the House will be introduction of government bills, government resolution, laying of reports and papers, debate on governor's address, presentation of the supplementary demand for grants for the year 2006-07 and its passing, general discussion on Budget, presentation of assembly committee reports, passing of Nagaland Appropriation Bill (No. 1&2) 2007 and adjournment of Session sine-die.

Meanwhile, the ruling and opposition parties are meeting separately to plan their strategies in the coming assembly session.
