TDP to raise previlege issue against AP CM

Hyderabad, Mar 18 (UNI) The Opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) today decided to move a breach of privilege motion against the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minsiter Y S Rajasekhara Reddy in the assembly on March 20 for not revealing the Governments decision to develop Machilipatnam port at Gogileru .

Talking to newspersons here at the TDLP office, MLAs, D Umamaheswara Rao, E Dayakara Rao and P Keshava said Dr Reddy had not revealed the Government's decision to develop the port at Gogileru, but instead presented Gilakalathinni area when the matter came up discussions before the house few days back.

Mr Umamaheswara Rao said the Government had already given contract to a private party but it did not reveal the facts in the House.

He said the Chief Minister had informed at an all-party meeting that the government had constituted an expert Committee on the matter. He demanded the name of the committee.

He said the people of Machilipatnam were organising relay hunger strike to prevent the government to shift of the Machilipatnam Port to Gogileru in the name of development.

Mr Keshava took objection to the ''unparliamentary'' language used by the Congress President K Keshava Rao against TDP Supremo Chandrababu Naidu. The congress Ministers, MLAs and other leaders had violated the Election Commission norms and resorted to irregularities in the Council Elections yestereay by adopting open ballot system, he alleged.

He said that the election commission should order repoll in the areas where the Congress leaders adopoted open ballot system.

Mr Dayakara alleged that the state government had issued orders in favour of Congress workers and sympathisers.
