Stability in Pak crucial for dialogue process: Narayanan
Kochi, Mar 18: Describing a stable situation in Pakistan as essential for the success of the composite dialogue process with India, National Security Advisor M K Narayanan today hoped that normalcy would be restored in the neighbouring country. Mr Narayanan, who was on a two-day private visit to Kerala, told reporters here that the recent events in Pakistan were a matter of concern for India.
Stating that the dialogue process was underway at several levels between India and Pakistan, Mr Narayanan said it was important that Pakistan had a strong government, which could deliver on whatever is agreed to during the bilateral negotiations.
Referring to the need for increased maritime security, he said this was important both for the defence of the country and the protection of its economic interests, including the extended economic zone.
Mr Narayanan visited the Guruvayur Sree Krishna Temple yesterday.
