Murder leads to tension

Malappuram, Mar 18 (UNI) Prohibitory orders were clamped in Tirur Taluk in Malappuram district of Kerala, following tension in the communally sensitive area.

Tension prevailed in the locality following the killing of an RSS sympathiser, Laxmanan, by unidentified assailants at Othukkungal on March 16.

The prohibitory orders, under Kerala Police Act, will be in force for five days from 1700 hrs to 0600 hrs, District Collector Premachandra Kurup said.
