Global inflation affects prices of essential commodities: YSR

Hyderabad, Mar 18 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today said the effects of international market, global inflation and glut in agricultural production due to adverse seasonal conditions affected the prices of essential commodities in the State.

Asserting that there was no role of the State Government with regard to spurt in prices of essential commodities, Dr Reddy said the Government came down heavily on hoarders and black-marketers with a stern hand to arrest the spiralling prices of commodities.

Stating that he was reviewing the price situation every day and has directed the officials concerned to take up necessary measures to contain the prices, he said the national market trend would also be studied and local prices analysed.
